Baseball Revenge Systems

nfl_zoom_faulk1Over the years MLB betting sharps have created a wide spectrum of handicapping systems to help them have a winning streak by season’s end. One of the best baseball betting systems to ever be created is the baseball revenge system. We enjoy using this system, because it offers a humanistic factor into the bet. In essence you are backing the emotion of a team based on a loss either the night before or a few months before the series you are about to wager on. Below are two types of baseball revenge that are commonly employed by handicappers.

1. Short Term Revenge – Baseball’s short revenge system takes place when a home team favorite returns from a long road trip, and leads for the majority of a game, only to see the underdog come back and win by three or more runs.

The following game after the loss, we need the favorite from the first game to once again be the favorite in the second game. Our expectation is that because the team was embarrassed by blowing a lead the night before, they will show a greater effort in the second game we wager on. By doing so, we expect the favorite to win the game outright as a way of getting quick revenge. This system is only applicable if the favorite is a home team and is favored again in the second game. They may be favored because of the pitching matchup, as the staff ace may be pitching in game two.

2. Long Term Revenge – In long term revenge the scenario that must occur, has one team being swept by another a few months prior to the matchup we are wagering on. For example, in the beginning of the season the Blue Jays continuously swept the Baltimore Orioles. However in late August when the two teams met again, the Orioles were favored in at least one game at home and were able to sweep the blue jays, exacting revenge.

Sports Betting Money Management

We’ve seen it all before, you’re up big and then suddenly a losing streak kicks in. Only rather than call it a night and take off until tomorrow, you continue to bet and then you double up and suddenly you are out more than you expected. But don’t worry, you are not alone, and here are a few tips to prevent being addicted to making back your sports wagering losses.

Firstly, proper money management comes down to one thing and one thing only, budgeting. A technique we’ve found that has prevented us from having a gambling problem is by utilizing the percentage system.

Basically, you would take about five percent of your overall budget and make wagers within the five percent. This can vary from using the entire five percent on one wager and then going home. Or you could take half a percent from within the five percent and use that. So what you would be doing in essence is you would make five bets, and each bet would have half a percent attached to it. Once those five bets are finished, you would be left with four percent, instead of five because those five bets made up one percent of your budget.

Secondly, and more importantly, you want to approach sports betting with the proper mind set. This means, absolutely no drinking while betting. While some bettors may stop reading after that last line, those who continued, should already know that alcohol clouds your judgment. When you are in the casino sportsbook, free drinks are offered, and the next thing you know you are betting more than you actually anticipated. Staying sober, allows for a clear mind set which then in turn prevents you from risking too much money on different sports.

How To Bet The March Madness Tournament

march-madness-futuresSecond in betting popularity only to the Super Bowl, the March Madness Tournament is one of the most exciting sports events to ever be created. Bettors from a plethora of other sports, similar to the Super Bowl, actually take a break from their niches to get involved in office and friends pools for the legendary tournament. For the sports betting fan new to March Madness, here are a few tips on how to bet on the tournament.

Sides

During the early rounds of the tournament, the majority of wagers go in the direction of the favorite. Over the last few years, the favorite has won the majority of games at an astounding 56.3 percentage. What’s more, in the last three years, bettors that pick teams ranked in the top four, which are favored by 10 or more points against their opponents, win at an incredible 60 percent.

Throughout the tournament’s history, the number one seed is undefeated against the 16 seed. Yet, one should keep in mind, that betting underdogs at least on the point spread can have its advantages. For instance, in that same three year survey noted above, the number one seed is only seven and four against the spread of 20 or more points when facing a 16 seed.

As well, taking the underdog in a low spread game can be beneficial too. For example, favorites have a losing record when it comes to games with a spread of two and a half points or less.

Totals

In keeping with the three year study from above, we discovered that 103 games have gone over the total while 86 went under. Moreover, in games where the total is listed at fewer than 125, the games have gone over at almost 58 percent of the time.
